Darius I calls himself 'a Persian, an Aryan' at Naqsh-e Rostam
The inscription on Darius I's tomb at Naqsh-e Rostam (DNa) styles him in Livius.org's translation as 'a Persian, son of a Persian, an Aryan, having Aryan lineage'. It gives two self-descriptions: Persian, after the homeland of Pārsa in Fars, and Aryan, the old word for the Iranians.
Era: Elam and the Achaemenid Empire
