Second Balkan War and the loss of Macedonia
Bulgaria attacked its former allies over the division of Macedonia and was crushed by Serbia, Greece, Romania and the Ottomans; the Treaty of Bucharest left most of Macedonia to its rivals and Southern Dobruja to Romania.

Second Vienna Award and Southern Dobruja
Under German and Italian arbitration Romania ceded northern Transylvania to Hungary; in September southern Dobruja was ceded to Bulgaria, costing Romania about 30% of its territory and people.

Treaty of Craiova returns Southern Dobruja
By the Treaty of Craiova, Romania ceded Southern Dobruja back to Bulgaria, restoring the 1912 frontier, the one Axis-era border change that was not reversed after the Second World War.
